It’s time once again for Recyclemania! The annual campus-wide recycling competition that matches residence hall vs. residence hall and (for second straight year) puts Kent State up against the University of Akron in the battle of the Recyclemania Braggin’ Wheel! Recyclemania also scores KSU’s recycling totals against hundreds of campuses from across North America.

Residence Halls are prepping for the season to start on Sunday, February 3 with Hall Councils and student leaders educating their peers and promoting the fierce competition. Be sure to follow the RECYCLEMANIA AT KENT STATE Facebook page for scoring updates, recycling tips, t-shirt and prize giveaways, and other witty recycling banter.

Last season, Kent State University finished the competition with a campus average of 7.60 lbs/person of recycled material and Engleman Hall led the residence halls with an average of 22.77 lbs/person.

2012 also marked the inaugural year for the Recyclemania Braggin’ Wheel trophy exchange between Kent State University and the University of Akron. Kent State was the victor in 2012 and seeks a repeat in 2013!

The 8-week Recyclemania season ends March 30, 2013. Winners will be announced on April 12.
