Dependent Attending KSU

When your dependent is planning to enroll in classes at the University, these are the steps you need to consider:

  • After the dependent is admitted to Kent State University, complete a Workflow application for Faculty/Staff Tuition Benefit Request for Spouse/Child through FlashLine and click on My Action Tab and go to the Workflow section. The tuition waiver benefits will continue for that dependent until they stop taking classes or become ineligible as a dependent.
  • If the tuition waiver is for the employee who is ROTC, retirees or disabled employees you will need to fill out the Tuition Benefit Request.  If the tuition waiver is for the dependent of the employee who is ROTC, retirees or disabled employees you will need to fill out the Tuition Benefit Request for Dependents and submit the completed form to the Benefits Office.
  • The form must be signed by your department head and returned to the Benefits Office for processing no later than 30 days after the start of the semester.
  • Any questions regarding the tuition waiver benefit may be directed to the Benefits Office at 330-672-3107 or by e-mail at benefits@kent.edu.
