OPERS Update

About OPERS Pension Reform

Representatives from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) visited Kent State University on Tuesday, Aug. 14 and Thursday, Aug. 16 for town hall meetings on the proposed pension reform legislation and proposed changes to health care coverage.

Please note that these are not retirement planning meetings. The purpose of the sessions was to review the details and implications of pending legislation in the Ohio House of Representatives that would make changes to the current OPERS retirement system; and to gather stakeholder feedback on proposed changes to health care coverage that OPERS is considering.
