We realize this is both an exciting and busy time for you, and you may have more questions than answers as you prepare to begin your employment here at Kent State.  Let us direct you to three important steps you will need to complete as part of  your new hire process.

 

Step 1 – Pre-Employment
Go to the New Hire Online Pre-employment Site to complete extremely important time-sensitive pre-employment information, including your Employee Eligibility Verification (I-9).  You must complete this form to be added to the human resource and payroll systems, so you should do this immediately upon hire.  If you don't, you may  forfeit your eligibility for benefits and not receive a paycheck. 

 

Step 2 – Orientation
Register for your Weekly New Hire Orientation to make your transition to Kent State smooth. At your new hire orientation, you will receive a wealth of information - from employee benefits, services and resources, to insurance plan options available to you as a Kent State employee.


Step 3 Benefits Enrollment
Log on to the Benefits Enrollment Web Site within 31 days of your hire date, but not sooner than your actual hire date, to make your benefit elections.  Failure to do so will result in a default of no health benefits and ineligibility to enroll in a flexible spending account until the fall open enrollment period.  We strongly recommend that you attend your New Hire/Benefits Orientation before making any elections.
