Assessing and Improving the Performance of Others

This course uses small group discussion and case studies to better understand the importance of performance management. The process will be thoroughly examined from the manager's and employee's points of view to better enable managers to fully utilize the evaluation process as a way to encourage and develop employees. In addition, participants will learn more about how to properly prepare and conduct an effective performance evaluation. Also, the role of the manager after the evaluation is concluded will be explored.

This online course on bullying was created specifically for supervisors and managers to help them recognize and proactively address workplace bullying. After completing this course, managers will be able to identify bullying behaviors, distinguish between performance management and bullying, explain the effect bullying has on the workplace, select an appropriate strategy for dealing with a bully, state the consequences of bullying another employee and select a course of action to prevent workplace bullying or respond to a concern about workplace bullying.

Employee Staffing and Interviewing

Participants will learn about the PDQ, the job analysis, the job description and the supervisor's role in the staffing process. In addition, other important forms such as the AGID and the role of the Office of Affirmative Action will be discussed. The second portion of this workshop will examine how to use behaviorial interviewing as a tool in assessing and selecting candidates for a position.

This one day workshop will closely examine the role of the supervisor as a coach and provide a coaching model for supervisors to use for improving employee performance.
