Edward G. Mahon, Vice President for Information Services and Chief Information Officer
Edward G. Mahon is responsible for the architecture and operations of the information technology systems in place at Kent State University, as well as the overall vision for the university’s information technology environment in the future.
Mahon arrived at Kent State in 2004 with more than 23 years of experience in communications and information technology and services. He serves on several advisory bodies, including Educause, a key association that promotes the intelligent use of information technology in higher education.
He previously served as the associate vice president and chief information officer at the University of Missouri at Columbia. At Missouri, Mahon was responsible for campus and system-wide information technology and originated the Big 12 CIO group. He currently serves on the Ohio Inter-University Council CIO group.
Mahon holds a bachelor’s degree in management/information systems from Eckerd College in Florida and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
