Video Conferencing Operations
Video Conferencing allows students, faculty, and staff to connect with other students and professionals at any Kent State campus and around the world. This is accomplished using technology that delivers broadcast quality audio and video over the Internet. We are able to offer reliable, high quality video conferencing connections because of Kent State's robust network and improvements in video conferencing hardware. The result is a seemingly effortless video conferencing experience.
Currently, the university boasts approximately 50 video conferencing classrooms and meeting rooms across all eight campuses. There have been a variety of implementations of video conferencing at Kent State, including course delivery, virtual field trips, training sessions and panel discussions. We regularly connect Kent State students and faculty to other U.S. universities and to locations like Paimpol, France and Shanghai, China. And we have enabled research partnerships by connecting faculty to places like Turkey and Pakistan*. The technology has also allowed us to offer undergraduate and graduate programs to partnering universities.
* Visit our Video Conferencing Map to view all the locations to which we have connected.
