KSU VPN (Virtual Private Network)

What is the KSU VPN?

The Virtual Private Network (VPN) service allows you to create a secure connection between your computer and the Kent State University network.

While connected to the VPN, you will have access to the university's computing resources as if you are on campus. VPN is only required when attempting to access resources that are not normally available from off-campus.

A VPN protects your network traffic as it travels over the public Internet, however it does not offer any additional protection to data stored or in-use on your computer. Users conducting university business or working with sensitive institutional data must follow computer security requirements prescribed by Information Services at all times.

Please Note: Beginning on July 1 and throughout the fall semester, the university’s proxy server will be retired. If you currently use the proxy server to access university resources from off-campus locations, please install and use the KSU VPN in its place.
