Advancement

Title: Banner Advancement Update

Presenter: Carla Norris – SunGard Higher  Education

Join Carla Norris, Banner Advancement Product Owner, for an update on recent product releases and Banner community news. During this session we will also review upcoming planned releases and current enhancement project prioritization for the Banner Advancement product offering

Title: ROE Journey to Baseline

Presenter: SunGard Higher Education

SunGard Higher Education will present a session with discussion about ROE 1001 and ROE 1004 and the journey to inclusion in baseline.

Financial Aid

Title: OBUG*C SharePoint Site Navigation Tips and Tricks

Presenter: Lorinda Bishop - SunGard Higher  Education

Our SharePoint site is our central repository for everything we do within OBUG*C,  from discussions to submissions of ROE's (Requests for Ohio Enhancements).  Come learn some easy to follow navigation tips that will enable you to become a contributor to the site.  We will have time within the session for those experienced users to share their tips as well.

Title: Talent Management

Title: OBUG*C HR Enhancements Discussion

This session will cover the HR ROE's that have been submitted and approved by the OBUG*C Board.  An update on the progress of each ROE will be provided.

Title:   Pay Stub

Presenter: Shelley Sherwin – Kent State University

This session will be a review of the OBUG*C ROE for the Pay Stub Enhancements.  We will demonstrate the new Pay Stub and discuss the evolution of the enhancements.

Reporting

Title: Argos Case Studies and Examples

Presenter: Alice Levy – Evisions

Argos, the Enterprise Reporting Solution from Evisions, has helped hundreds of Banner sites solve reporting and information access challenges. This session will go through examples from letter generation and basic reporting to data cubes and dashboards. Using client examples you will see how Argos can help you go beyond basic reporting and get access to the information you need quickly and easily.

Title: Reporting IQ

Presenter: Chris Muller

 

Improve your Reporting Intelligence Quotient by participating in the Inaugural Reporting Jeopardy game show.  Bring a group from your institution to form a team and win some fabulous prizes by answering correctly(in the form of a question) in a variety of topics such as; Cognos, Ad-hocs, ODS/EDW, and Metadata.  Each answer will be developed to lead into group discussions on each topic.

Student

Title: One Stop Shop

Presenter: Laura Finson, Vicky Fosco, and Kathy McMahon  – Cuyahoga Community College

Learn about combining Admissions, Financial Aid, and Registration services for students. This session will focus on how to develop and train for this type of service via the use of Banner.

Title: Degree Audits and Degree Plans Smoothing the way to Graduation: DegreeWorks at Kent State

Presenters: The GPS Team: Marlena Lewandowski, Matt Bowes, Yza Melvin, Susan Cole,  and Debbie Barber – Kent State University

GPS, the Graduation Planning System, is translating degree requirements into degree audits and individualized student plans for students to map out their paths to graduation.  This presentation chronicles the journey to production.

Title: The Graduation Planning System – Beyond the Degree Audit and Plan – Tracking Students to Graduation

Presenters: The GPS Team: Marlena Lewandowski, Matt Bowes, Yza Melvin, Susan Cole,  and Debbie Barber – Kent State University

Kent State University has implemented their new Degree Audit and Degree Plan, GPS, using the SunGard DegreeWorks product.  The final phase of the project is to introduce Tracking, which is currently under development.  This presentation will share the vision for Tracking and explore how it fits with the ultimate goal - guiding students to graduation.

Title: Dynamic Student Checklist

Presenter: Shelley Sherwin – Kent State University

This session will be a demonstration of the newly released Dynamic Student Checklist at Kent State University.  This checklist provides students a list of tasks they need to complete to have a successful start to the semester.  The student only sees items that pertain to them and each item provides an up-to-date status of each item.  Each checklist item includes either a link to Self Service Banner, other links as appropriate, and/or other instructions for the student to follow.

Title: OnLine Applications

Presenter: Sweta Thakker – Owens Community College

Owens Community College put a lot of polish on the Web Application process including auto-admit with proper holds and auto-notify.

Title: Proxy Access (Parent Portal) – Banner General & Web Tailor 8.5

Presenter: Shelley Sherwin – Kent State University

 

This session will be an overview of the collaborative project for the new Self Service Banner module: Proxy Access.  In addition to the overview of the project, a review will be given of how KSU will be building a guest portal around the Proxy Access process.

Technical

Title: Mobile Connection

Presenters: Scott Coffman, Jerry Beck, Jim Specht, & Mike Addison – Owens Community College

Owens Community College is in the midst of implementing SunGard's Mobile Connection.  In this session, Owens' technical team will discuss the project plan including challenges and milestones.  The team will review user authentication, Google Maps integration as well as college branding.  The team will demonstrate the mobile solution as a presentation and on hand-held devices you will be welcome to try out. 

Title: Personally Identifiable Information Peace of Mind with DataMasque

Presenter: Alice Levy – Evisions

Are you uncomfortable with testing and training using actual student and employee information without having Personally Identifiable Information (PII) masked in some way?  If so, see how DataMasque, the newest member of the Evisions product suite, will make the process of removing PII simple - while still maintaining a relevant and usable testing and training environment. DataMasque comes with predefined scrub plans for Banner to ensure quick implementation – and can be used with any SQL-compliant database.

Title: Banner 9 Beta Overview

Presenters: Andrea Nunley and DBAs – Kent State University

This session reviews the Kent State University experience with the SunGard Higher Education Banner 9 Beta project for Course Catalog and Class Schedule.

Workflow / Imaging

Title: Xtender Links in Cognos/Outsourcing Scanning

Presenters: Jason Dunfee, Cindy Roberts, and Holly Slocum – Kent State University

Two topics in one session!  First, learn how Kent State integrated Application Xtender and Cognos to provide a key improvement to a variety of processes.  Second, a discussion on outsourcing of document scanning; specifically when it is appropriate and what's needed to get it done.

Title: Document Imaging IQ

Presenters: Jason Dunfee & Holly Slocum
