Remediate Compromised Outlook Web App Account


Fix Changed Signature:

  1. Login to Outlook Web App at mail.kent.edu with your FlashLine credentials
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right
  3. Select “Options”

  4. Select “Mail,” then “Layout,” and then “Email signatures” from the panel on the left
    • Report any signature that you did not set to security@kent.edu and then delete the signature

Fix Filters/Inbox Rules:

  1. Login to Outlook Web App at mail.kent.edu with your FlashLine credentials
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right
  3. Select “Options”

  4. Select “Mail,” then “Automatic Processing,” and then “Inbox Rules” from the panel on the left
    • If there are any rules that you did not set, report them to security@kent.edu and delete the rule.
