Data Backup and Restore Management

Provides backup of files and servers based on backup policies for the purpose of supporting recovery of deleted or corrupted files, required data archiving and support recovery from events such as fire or natural disasters that could affect Kent State's information technology infrastructure.

Service delivery process

Expected response time for acknowledgement:
1 Business Day

Expected response time for fulfillment:
1 Week for standard backup requests.  1 Business day for a file restore.  Non-standard backup policies, restores of large file subsystems, and restores to equipment going through a recovery process must be determined on a case by case basis.

Service delivery hours:
Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. for new client adds or modifications. Backup activity occurs 24/7/365. Restore activity is based on the urgency and size of the request.

Additional information

Standard Backup is 14 versions and standard retention is 15-45 days.

Servers outside the IS Data Center will vary in complexity and backup/restore capability.

Data Restoration has several requirements & performance considerations.
