Servers - Virtual, Physical, and Physical to Virtual Conversions

IS provides various sizes of cost-effective virtual servers to support most x86 applications. Virtual servers are built on a highly available server and storage platform, built for reliability. Each virtual server includes 24/7 monitoring and support.

For applications with requirements too large or unique for a virtual server, IS can purchase, install, and maintain an appropriately sized physical server for the client. Each servers includes 24/7 monitoring and support.

IS also performs the migration of a physical server to virtual for servers migrating to the IS virtual server infrastructure.

Costs associated with this service

Cost is quoted based on requirements and server configuration.

How to request this service

Call 330-672-HELP (4357) or Submit a Support Ticket at support.kent.edu, and include the following: specifications, estimated data growth, and manager.

NOTE: Only administrative and academic department representatives may request this service.

Service delivery process

Expected response time for acknowledgement:
Requests are immediately acknowledged by the helpdesk system. Acknowledgement of a request will be received within 3 business days. A representative from IS Server Support will contact you for additional technical information.

Expected response time for fulfillment:
The time required to fulfill requests varies depending on complexity of requirements and availability of resources.

Service delivery hours:
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Excluding university breaks
