Electronic Media

Electronic Media majors gain first-hand experience in all aspects of single camera and live multi-camera production - including shooting, audio recording, editing, writing, directing and producing digital films and live television. Film styles covered in the Electronic Media degree program include narrative fiction, documentary, commercial and corporate productions. Students interested in live television study news, sports, and entertainment programs in our own high-definition studio, as well as cover live events in a million-dollar remote production truck. Many Kent State School of Journalism and Mass Communication graduates work in the broadcasting, motion picture, video, and sound recording industries. Others are employed in industry, producing employee communication, sales and training programs. (This major will be renamed Digital Media Production in Fall 2014.)
