On Sunday, Feb. 7, Kent City Police responded to a report of a man who had been shot inside an off-campus apartment at 1632 E. Main St. in the city of Kent. Upon officers’ arrival, an 18-year-old Kent State University student was found deceased. One suspect was apprehended with the assistance of Stow Police. Counseling services and support are available to all students, staff and faculty members as we deal with our loss. We continue to keep safety as a top priority. As part of that priority, Kent State Police are in close contact with the City of Kent Police Department to ensure the safety of our Kent Campus community. Kent State Police patrol our campus 24 hours a day through vehicle, foot and bicycle patrol. There are more than 30 blue light phones stationed across campus in parking lots and along sidewalks that connect immediately with campus police.
