Lt. Col. Sarah Deal ’92

First female Marine Corps aviator

After graduating from Kent State’s storied aeronautics program, Sarah Deal went on to do extraordinary things. She put her degree in aerospace flight technology to work right away as second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. And when policy was changed to allow females to fly in the Marines, she requested to be an aviator, which led her to become the first female Marine Corps aviator. At Kent State University we’re accustomed to pioneering new paths to success.
