The Kent State University community joins the nation, especially our fellow Ohio citizens, in mourning the passing of statesman George Voinovich. His contributions to our state and our nation are without question. From his staunch support of early education initiatives such as Head Start programs to his support of a system of higher education in Ohio that met the needs of all students regardless of race, ethnicity or socioeconomic status, George Voinovich will long be remembered for his legacy of support for a quality education for all Ohioans.
