University Libraries’ Stress-Free Zone Returns Dec. 9 and 10

Pet therapy dogs help Kent State University students relieve the stress of finals week during University Libraries' Stress-Free Zone event. The Stress-Free Zone returns Dec. 9 and 10.Kent State University Libraries will hold its Stress-Free Zone event on Monday, Dec. 9, and Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 3-5 p.m. each day on the first floor of the University Library. The Stress-Free Zone offers the opportunity for a study break for students and an avenue to reduce stress for faculty and staff members as the fall semester comes to an end.

Pet therapy dogs will return this year to help ease the stress of finals week. There will be free popcorn and beverages for all.

“For several weeks now, Kent State students, faculty and staff have been asking if we’ll bring Dogs on Campus back again this year,” says Karen Hillman, director of marketing communications and public relations for University Libraries. “Last year, the library lobby was filled with people enjoying refreshments and waiting for a chance to pet the dogs. You can’t help but smile when you see their tails wagging.”
