FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

- College of Arts and Sciences official web site - Important Info & forms.
THESIS
- NOTIFICATION OF APPROVED THESIS TOPIC - IMPORTANT!!! Turn in an "Approval of Thesis Topic" at least a semester before your Graduation Application. Check deadlines.
- Defense Announcement - Please post the announcement of your defense at least one week before your defense date. I will also need a copy in my office so that I can fax it to the A&S Graduate Secrettary for her records as well.
- College of A & S Graduate Forms - You need to fill out a "Thesis Final - Report" before you defend your Thesis. Take it with you to the defense so that it can be signed by your committee. You also need this to apply for Master's graduation if you are taking qualifiers - simply mark that you are taking the qualifiers in place of the thesis.
- Thesis Preparation Approval Form - Turn in with your Thesis copy. Check guidelines and deadlines.

DISSERTATION
Once you have passed your candidacy exam, you can finally start working on your dissertation! Here are some things you will need when your dissertation nears its end...
- TIMELINE for the oral defense
- NOTIFICATION OF APPROVED DISSERTATION TOPIC AND PROSPECTUS - IMPORTANT!!! Turn in an "Approval of Dissertation Topic" at least a semester before your Graduation Application. Check deadlines.
- Defense Announcement - Please post the announcement of your defense at least 10 days before your defense date. I will also need a copy in my office so that I can fax it to Arts and Sciences for their records as well.
- College of A&S - Go here to request a Graduate Faculty Representative for your defense committee.
- College of A & S Graduate Forms - You need to fill out a "Final Examination - Report" before you defend your Dissertation. Take it with you to the defense so that it can be signed by your committee.

- Final Examination guidelines - Lists the rules and regulations regarding the final examination (of your dissertation).
- Dissertation Preparation Approval Form - Turn in with your Dissertation copy. Check guidelines and deadlines.
SUBMISSION
INFORMATION ON ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION OF DISSERTATIONS
***Students who submit electronically must provide the college with the signature pages on bonded paper, as shown in the Styles Guide. ***
When you go to this information page, there are links on the left that explain how to submit the dissertation/thesis. If you already have your dissertation in pdf form, skip to the guidelines link and make sure you have followed all the steps on that page. (Direction #8 on the guidelines page is where the actual uploading directions begin.)
