Upcoming Event: The Tournées French Film Festival

The IAL in collaboration with the department of History will co-sponsor the annual The Tournées French Film Festival on February 25-28. The event is once again made possible with the support of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the French Ministry of Culture (CNC). Check the website for titles, times, and location.

Strong presence of the IAL at the MLA Annual Conference. 

The Tasks of Translation in the Global Context was the theme of the Presidential Forum at the 2009 MLA Annual Convention in Philadelphia . Several IAL/KSU professors (Brian Baer, Carol Maier, Françoise Massardier-Kenney and Kelly Washbourne ) organized sessions or presented in the following panels: “Training Translators in Theory and Practice,” “The Sociological Turn in Translation and Interpretation Studies,” “Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, and the United States Academ: What is the Relation?” and “Literary Translators on source Texts and Translation Practice: A Reading and Discussion”
