Andrews Named Interim Executive Dean, Regional Campuses (6/9/08)

Dr. Gregory L. Andrews, dean of the Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus, will become interim executive dean, Regional Campuses on July 1, Kent State Provost Robert G. Frank announced June 6.

Andrews will replace Dr. Shirley Barton, following her retirement as executive dean, Regional Campuses. Barton served the Kent State community for 32 years. During his service as interim executive dean, Andrews will retain his duties as dean of Kent State Tuscarawas.

Andrews earned his associate of arts and bachelor’s degree from Kent State University, as well as a master’s degree and Ph.D. in sociology from KSU. Prior to his appointment as dean of Kent State Tuscarawas in 1995, he served as director of special programs and continuing studies and taught sociology coursework at Kent State Stark.

In his current role, he has championed the success of Kent State Tuscarawas through numerous achievements and activities, including increased enrollment, the building of the Science and Advanced Technology Center, support of the Artist/Lecture Series and Featured Speakers Series and most recently the groundbreaking of the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.
