Partnership for the Minority Business Accelerator Class Introduction, Nov. 21 (11/20/08)

The Partnership for the Minority Business Accelerator (PMBA), a consortium of Kent State University, Akron Urban League and Akron SCORE will reveal its client companies at Kent State’s 2008 Entrepreneurship Extravaganza.

The PMBA is a two-year business accelerator program serving African-American and Hispanic business owners in Medina, Portage and Summit counties through a grant from the GAR Foundation. In 2007, Kent State University, Akron SCORE and Akron Urban League joined together to form the PMBA, which provides education, mentoring, networking and training to increase the success and growth of minority-owned businesses.
The inaugural group of 20 PMBA client companies will be showcased on day two of the Entrepreneurship Extravaganza, Friday, Nov. 21, during the event’s luncheon. Following the luncheon, there will be a meet-and-greet reception for the PMBA client companies, which is open to all event attendees and the media. The event will be held from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in Room 206 of the Kent Student Center on the Kent Campus.
