The exhibition Native Americans through the Prism of Culture: Edward S. Study Sheds Light on Earth’s CO2 Cycles, Possible Impacts of Climate Change (5/11/07)
A research team tracing the origin of the large carbon dioxide increase in Earth’s atmosphere at the end of the last ice age has detected two ancient “burps” that originated from the deepest parts of the southern ocean around Antarctica. A paper on the subject appears in today's online edition of Science.

SLIS Receives $249,000 Reinberger Foundation Gift for Renovations to House Marantz Picturebook Collection (3/20/07)

Kent State University's School of Library and Information Science received a $249,000 gift from the Reinberger Foundation of Cleveland. The gift will be used to renovate 1,800 sq.- ft.of space in the Library to house the recently acquired Marantz Collection, a unique 21,000 volume picturebook collection chronicling the rich artistic and literary tradition of modern storytelling for young people.

 

Ohio Middle Schoolers to Gain International Perspectives at Seminar (3/13/07)
More than 150 seventh- and eighth-grade students from northeast Ohio schools will participate in the 2007 Global Issues Seminar at Kent State University, Wednesday, March 21.
