Kentfor Kids, June 9 – Aug. 1
For more than 30 years, the Kent for Kids program has provided enrichment activities for kindergartners through eighth graders. Participants have fun taking part in a wide selection of hands-on activities. They can attend up to four classes a day in topic areas such as fine and performing arts, crafts, sports and games, technology, and science. The program also features supervised before and after activities so that working parents can enroll their children the entire day. Two-week sessions run from June 9 through Aug. 1, 2008.
Summer Chamber Studies (NEW), June 20 – 29
Summer Chamber Studies is a program for collaborative piano, strings, voice and percussion students ages 10 to 18. Students of all skill levels study with outstanding teachers and fellow student musicians at Kent State’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music. Activities teach individual and group performance techniques that challenge each student to achieve his or her highest level of musicianship. Students attend concerts and participate in performance activities, private lessons, technique classes, small chamber ensembles, master classes and theory classes taught by the world-class La Catrina Quartet.
