Breast Cancer Prevention Program and Walk, April 19
Breast Cancer Prevention Program and Walk, April 19
Chances are you know someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer. Learn more about breast cancer detection and treatments on April 19 at “Bustin’ Loose,” a breast cancer prevention program. The program is free and open to the public.
The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the Kent Student Center, Governance Chambers. A panel of breast cancer survivors will share their stories of struggle and success, followed by guest speaker and renowned breast surgeon Dr. Cynthia Morris. Morris will discuss strategies for early detection, as well as her perspective on treating patients.
After the program, please join us for a short walk, ending at White Hall, where snacks and beverages will be provided.
Attendees will receive free breast cancer prevention information, free t-shirts (in limited supply), and will be able to participate in a raffle to help raise money to provide mammograms for women in Portage County.
This event is sponsored by the Kent State College of Education, Health and Human Services’ Adult Counseling, Health, and Vocational Education department, the Women’s Resource Center, Portage County Tobacco Prevention Coalition and the American Cancer Society.
