Feb. 17 event features 1920s fashion lecture by Sara Hume and preview excerpt from Thoroughly Modern Millie

The Kent State University Museum and School of Theatre and Dance are teaming up to present a unique event celebrating the perennial glamor and allure of the 1920s. This special program on Feb. 17 is presented in conjunction with the museum’s “Flapper Style: 1920s Fashion” exhibit and Kent State’s production of “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” The event will include a short preview of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” by members of the cast, followed by a talk by “Flapper Style” curator Sara Hume, Ph.D.

The Kent State University Museum will present its new exhibit “Flapper Style: Fashions of the 1920s” in the museum’s Broadbent Gallery from Sept. 25, 2015, to Sept. 4, 2016. The museum will also host a special preview reception, featuring drinks and refreshments, on Thursday, Sept. 24. Admission to the reception is $15; to RSVP, please call 330-672-0300.
