The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music is one of the most distinguished schools of music in the Midwest and is one of the few in Ohio to offer degrees from the baccalaureate through the doctorate. In addition, the school hosts the Kent/Blossom Music Festival, among the most respected summer professional training festivals in the country, in conjunction with The Cleveland Orchestra.
The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music recently achieved the designation as an All-Steinway School. All-Steinway Schools demonstrate a commitment to artistic and educational excellence by providing their students and faculty with the best equipment possible for the study of music. Attaining this designation makes evident the value we place on the future of music education and artistic expression.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Need help paying for college? Music majors are eligible for scholarships and other forms of financial assistance from a variety of sources. While several of these programs are administered directly by the School of Music, others are coordinated by the Kent State University Office of Student Financial Aid, The Admissions Office or by the Honors College. It is possible to receive combined assistance from more than one source. School of Music Continuing Scholarships and Orchestra Society Scholarships are determined as a result of an audition.
