March 29, 2012   Six Kent State University faculty members were recognized during a ceremony on March 28 as the university honored its Outstanding Research and Scholar Award recipients. The recipients of the 2012 award are Carmen Almasan, Department of Physics; Kenneth Bindas, Department of History; John Gunstad, Department of Psychology; Antal Jakli, Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program/Liquid Crystal Institute; Thomas Janson, School of Music; and Laura Leff, Department of Biological Sciences. January 17, 2012   The 2012 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Awards Reception will be held at 5:30 PM on March 28, in Cartwright Hall, Kent Campus.  January 3, 2012   The Campus Kitchen Project at Kent State University, a student-powered program that provides meals to local families in need, received the Excellence in Operations award at the National Campus Kitchens Project Conference in St. Louis. January 17, 2012   The Golden Flashes hosted Eastern Michigan during their home opener Friday - and won. Results tallied up at Kent State, 194.150 vs. Eastern Michigan, 191.050. January 10, 2012   The Kent State Department of Intercollegiate Athletics seeks an energetic crowd pleaser to play the role of the No. 1 fan of the Blue & Gold: Flash, the golden eagle. February 16, 2012   The Kent State gymnastics team put together its best meet performance of the year Sunday afternoon as the team put up season bests on all four events in the Golden Flashes' 195.525-193.625 win over Northern Illinois during their "Flip for the Cure" fundraiser. March 1, 2012   The Kent State University Division of Research and Sponsored Programs and Department of Physics will host a public lecture by Yale Professor of Physics John W. Harris on March 28 at 7 PM. February 7, 2012   The Kent State University men's basketball team rolled over Ball State, 76-55, during the Feb. 11 game, which was televised on ESPNU. Fans were encouraged to wear gold to the game as the Golden Flashes hosted a “GOLDOUT†for the nationally televised contest. February 7, 2012   The seniors on Kent State University’s wrestling team couldn’t have written a better script for their final competition at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on Sunday, Feb. 5. The Kent State Golden Flashes (12-4, 5-0 MAC) won eight matches, including victories by all four seniors in the lineup, downing Eastern Michigan (13-6, 2-2) 28-10. The victory capped off an undefeated conference season, extended Kent State’s winning streak to 10 and secured the Golden Flashes’ second outright Mid-American Conference title in the last four years. February 7, 2012   The success of the athletics programs at Kent State University transcends beyond the field of competition and into the classroom. This past fall, Kent State Golden Flashes student-athletes representing all 18 sports totaled the highest number of 3.0 term Grade Point Averages (GPA) in recorded history with 241 earning the distinction. « Prev  |  Next »
