Kent State rolled to its third straight win in convincing fashion on Saturday with a 35-3 win over rival Akron at InfoCision Stadium. The victory also gives the Golden Flashes bragging rights to the coveted wagon wheel trophy for a second consecutive year.

The 2011 Founders Gala was held Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. The event honors Kent State University’s most generous individual and corporate donors and the impact their gifts have on students, faculty and progress of Kent State.

Kent State University returned to Dix Stadium for its second game in seven days to beat Central Michigan 24-21 during a nationally televised event on ESPN2 on Friday, Nov. 4.

Kent State University President Lester A. Lefton was joined by his predecessors, former Kent State presidents Carol Cartwright (1991-2006) and Michael Schwartz (1982-1991), at Dix Stadium to watch the Kent State Golden Flashes football team. The Golden Flashes beat Bowling Green State University on Oct. 29 by a score of 27-15. Coincidentally, Cartwright also served as Bowling Green’s president up until her retirement this past June.

The Kent State football team got its late-season push off to a strong start, fending off East Division rival Bowling Green, 27-15, Saturday (Oct. 29) at Dix Stadium for its first Mid-American Conference triumph of the 2011 season.
