A new company formed by a Kent State University researcher and inventor will market a technological innovation – flexible, electrically conductive transparent films – that can be used in electronic devices, including smart phones and touchscreens, and in windows that switch from transparent to opaque to block light.

The Telly Awards has named a fundraising video created for the new Center for the Visual Arts at Kent State University as a bronze winner in the 35th Annual Telly Awards. The Kent State video submission was one of nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries.

Kent State University’s Dining Services is now serving burgers, tacos, salads and more from its first food truck this summer. The new food truck, called Fork in the Road, has a core menu and chef specials with a focus on culinary excellence. The menu will change with availability of seasonal ingredients and will feature both classics and signature items.

Science, technology, engineering and math – commonly referred to as STEM fields – will be in spotlight when Kent State University hosts the Hudson STEM Project Fair on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.   The science fair, spotlighting the work of students in grades 4 through 12, will be held in the Kent Student Center Ballroom and Balcony on the Kent Campus. It is free and open to the public. Project display area is open to the public for viewing from noon to 2:30 p.m. The area is closed during the morning judging.

Fork in the Road is a mobile food truck exclusively owned and operated by Kent State University Dining Services. The truck features gourmet comfort food executed by Executive Chef Christian Booher, and is available for the enjoyment of students and the public. Fork in the Road operates on the university’s campus and in the surrounding areas.

Iris E. Harvey, Kent State University’s vice president for university relations, is among the 2014 Women of Note and was recognized on July 24 at LaCentre of Westlake, Ohio.
