Gov. John Kasich has appointed Jessica Peck of Valley City, Ohio, to a two-year term as a graduate student trustee of the Kent State University Board of Trustees. Peck’s term began on July 14, 2017, and ends May 16, 2019.

Kent State University students will soon have a unique opportunity to gain professional money management experience. Starting in the fall, the Kent State University Foundation will effectively start “hiring” the students to manage current investable assets.

The Student Managed Investment Fund will be the first of its kind at Kent State. The purpose is to give students real-world experience and advance career opportunities.

It might even sound familiar if you remember George Jetson, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, and Jane, his wife. The Jetson’s know all about living in the future. The animated, space-aged sitcom portrayed a futuristic utopia filled with fantastical inventions, and complex robotic gadgets.

Renée DeLuca Dolan, founder and president of Contempo Communications, publisher of Cleveland Business Connects (CBC) Magazine and alumna of Kent State University, is the recipient of the 2017 Spirit of Women in Business Award. Each year, the Spirit of Women in Business Award honors a Kent State business alumna who excels in her profession, paving the way for women in business.

Nine students from Kent State's College of Business recently met the President of Iceland, His Excellency Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, during their study abroad trip to Europe.  The group also met U.S. Ambassador Robert C. Barber on May 30 as part of their International Experience in Entrepreneurship course.
