Kent State Choruses, Chorale and Orchestra Combine for a Festive Concert Collective (04/21/2009)

On Sunday, May 3, in Cartwright Auditorium at 7:30 p.m., the Kent Chorus, Men’s and Women’s Choruses and the KSU Chorale will combine with the KSU Orchestra in a festive concert featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “O Clap Your Hands,” Mendelssohn’s “Wie der Hirsch schreit” (from Cantata 42) and Morten Lauridsen’s luxuriant work for chorus and orchestra “Lux Aeterna.”  The latter composition features five movements, the texts of which are drawn from sacred Latin sources containing references to Light.

The concert will also feature each choir performing several pieces separately.

The concert is open to the public. Tickets are available at the door for $15.
