College of Nursing Faculty Member Receives Jeanette Wooding Service Award (05/26/2009)

Summit and Portage District of the Ohio Nurses Association recently named Mary D. Calabro, of Stow, Ohio, as the 2009 recipient of the Jeanette Wooding Service Award. Calabro is the director of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the Kent State University College of Nursing.

Established in 1991, the Jeanette Wooding Service Award is presented annually to a member of the Summit and Portage District who has participated in committee and/or board of director work that brings positive recognition to the district. 

Calabro has served on the Board of Directors of Summit and Portage District as well as the Board of Directors of the Ohio Nurses Association. Calabro was inducted in to the Cornelius Congress of the Ohio Nurses Association in 2005 and received the Distinguished Teacher Award in 2003 from Kent State University.
