Stan Hywet Presents Symposium on Change (09/01/2009)
Stan Hywet presents Models of Change: Keeping the Doors Open during the2009 Stan Hywet Symposium, on Sept. 18-19, 2009. This forum will bring together a consortium of experts and students for the exchange of ideas on models of change and best practices to help weather challenges faced by non-profits and institutions in today’s chaotic economic climate.
The Symposium will include sessions covering a variety of topics that pertain to this year’s theme, as well as an evening reception on Friday evening in Stan Hywet’s Music Room followed by dinner and keynote speaker. The keynote speaker, Barbara Silberman, is a nationally recognized leader in transforming historic sites and ensuring their sustainability. In 1998, she founded and directed the Heritage Philadelphia Program, of the Pew Charitable Trusts. Today Silberman is the principal of Heritage Partners Consulting, which specializes in strategic planning, capacity building and board development, program development and interpretation, and fundraising.
The Stan Hywet Symposium was initiated in 2007 as a forum for the study and discussion of a diverse range of historical, architectural, and preservation issues. It is a collaborative effort with The University of Akron, Kent State University,
Ticket prices have been reduced to accommodate more participants. Registration is $115, $95 members. Single day registration is also available. Friday, Sept. 18 is $85, $70 members; Saturday, Sept. 19 is $35, $30 members. Student pricing is also available upon request.
