Enrollment and Student Affairs Vice President Goldsmith to Leave Kent State (6/4/2009)

Harold "Pete" Goldsmith
“Pete has been instrumental in increasing enrollment and outreach for Kent State, as well as enhancing student services,” says Lefton. “Under his leadership, Kent State expanded out-of-state recruiting efforts, increased involvement in student recruiting across the university and committed more university funds for scholarships.”
Goldsmith also reorganized the Department of Residence Services and advocated the expansion of the living-learning programs in the residence halls, resulting in greater student satisfaction with the residence hall environment. In addition, he led the integration of Health Services and Student Accessibility Services to provide better coordination of services for students with disabilities.
“I have enjoyed my time at Kent State,” Goldsmith says. “The EMSA staff does amazing things and is incredibly dedicated to our students. The opportunity to lead them has made this a very special time in my life.”
An alumnus of Indiana University, with undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Indiana University Bloomington, Goldsmith returns to his alma mater to lead the Division of Student Affairs and oversee a number of programs and services that will foster students’ personal development and enhance student success.
