Profile:

Emily Ribnik, PCC-S, has been affiliated with Kent State University since 1999.  She graduated in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology, and again in 2007 with her Masters of Education in Community Counseling.  She is a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory Endorsement in the state of Ohio.  Currently, she works as the mental health clinician at Kent State University at Stark providing counseling services to students, as well as consultation and training for the faculty and staff.  Emily visits classes to have contact with as many students as possible, specifically first semester freshmen.  She serves as the A.L.i.C.E. (active shooter and violent intruder response training) Instructor for the Stark campus, as well as other regional campuses and agencies in the community. 

Emily has also been involved with law enforcement training and education since 2007, when she completed Crisis Intervention Team training.  Yearly, she presents at local and international conferences for law enforcement on a variety of topics including trauma, psychiatric emergencies, crisis response and collaboration, verbal de-escalation, active shooter response training, working with teens and adolescents and first responder self care and well being.  She has worked with local police agencies and Metro SWAT.
