Eugene J. Finn became Kent State’s vice president for institutional advancement in April 2007. As a member of the president’s Cabinet, he is responsible for the university’s Office of Institutional Advancement and Office of Alumni Relations. He also serves as executive director of the Kent State University Foundation.

During his tenure, Mr. Finn has led the public launch of the $250 million Centennial Campaign, which raises funds for the university’s endowment, capital projects and current-operating funds, with particular emphasis on student scholarships. Under his leadership, the division has been restructured and successfully achieved two record-breaking years of support from alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students, corporations and foundations.

His team also organized the first universitywide leadership summit of boards and advisory panels, and coordinated a series of presidential events across the country to engage alumni with the institution’s new Excellence Agenda.

Prior to arriving at Kent State, Mr. Finn served as the associate vice president of advancement for The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and also has served as interim vice president of advancement at the institution.

Mr. Finn received his Master of Arts degree from GWU and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College.
