The Kent State University Research Council has provided a trio of Kent State Trumbull psychology students – junior Morgan Free and seniors Randi Hidasey and Greg Perry – each with a $500 award in order to conduct research.

The trio – along with Patricia Tomich, Ph.D., psychology – is co-authoring a paper that focuses on the links between trauma exposure, the need for cognition, and mental health.

The group plans to present at two sessions of the 2014 Eastern Psychological Association meeting in Boston.

The Kent State University Research Council’s goal is to foster and stimulate research efforts and creative projects by providing financial support for artistic and scholarly work conducted by Kent State faculty and students.
