Statement of Goals

Please write a brief statement (300-500 words) outlining your field or sub-field of interest. The statement should:

• Describe your tentative research question (argument) and its significance
• Mention the methodologies, theories, approaches, or tools that you intend to use in your research if you already know what they will be
• Describe your intended career path (academia, language industry, government, etc.) and how completing a Ph.D. in Translation Studies might contribute to that goal
• Explain how your interests may fit with the expertise of one or more faculty members
• Explain how your prior studies or experiences relate to and have prepared you for doctoral-level work in Translation Studies
