Kent State University Geauga and Regional Academic Center Commencement

Kent State University at Geauga and the Regional Academic Center will hold its commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13, 2017 to conclude both the Spring semester and the 2016-17 academic year.  Over 150 students who are earning their associate or bachelor degrees will be honored during the ceremony, which begins at 4 p.m. at Parkside Church in Bainbridge.

Elizabeth Norieka, a Geauga County native, award-winning journalist, and television news anchor for Fox 8 News in Cleveland, will serve as the keynote speaker. During her decade-long career of pursuing various journalistic opportunities, she's received numerous awards including the Associated Press Journalist of the Year, West Virginia Broadcaster's Association's Best Reporter four years in a row, and WVBA's Best Anchor two years in a row.

The campus will present its first Distinguished Alumni Award to Nicholas Giardina. Nick graduated from the Geauga Campus in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He felt that the individual attention from the professors and staff were so instrumental in his development as a student and person that he wanted to give back in some way. He established the Giardina Lindeman Endowed Scholarship to assist students with the cost of higher education.

Nick currently serves on the Dean's Advisory Board and lives in Middlefield with his family.

The event will be streamed live and memories will be shared on social media using #KSUGGrads.
