Changing Culture…One Green Dot at a Time

Do you want to join others in making our community welcoming and help in promoting safety?  Are you interested in getting involved with the Green Dot movement?

Green Dot is about what each of us can do to make a difference in our community.  It is a single choice in one moment in time to use your voice, actions or choices to make one small corner of the world safer.  Being a part of the Green Dot team is about a shared vision that creates momentum through the power of a common language and purpose.   We need and want each of you to be a part of this. We are all leaders at Kent State and have the ability to influence those we interact with (students, colleagues and visitors to our campuses) in taking an active role in creating a welcoming, safe and healthy community.

We are looking for faculty and staff on all campuses who would like to become certified as Green Dot educators.

On July 25-28 we will be hosting a 4 day training to be certified as an educator for Green Dot.  Your certification stays with you wherever you are.   As an educator you will be part of a team of folks working across the university to facilitate dialogue around behaviors and words which contribute to a culture of violence, to motivate everyone be active in addressing such actions and to teach bystander skills for safely intervening and creating a healthy, safe and welcoming university for all.

The cost for the 4-day training is $350 and may be paid by your department. The SRVSS Office will be subsidizing the cost as well.
