AP & College Credit Transfer

Advanced Placement (AP) Credits

Students in Ohio who take a College Board Advanced Placement examination and score at least a '3' are guaranteed college credit, usually towards their general education curriculum, upon entering an Ohio Public Institution of Higher Education. With a sufficient score on an AP exam, you will be able to earn college credit and/or course equivalencies at any of Ohio's public colleges and universities.

Kent State University awards college credit for Advanced Placement (AP) exams with scores of 3, 4, or 5. Specific questions in regard to how these credits apply to your selected major should be directed to that college office.

College Credits

Students who participate in dual enrollment can earn college credit that in most instances will satisfy high school graduation requirements. Please contact your high school counselor for more details about how your college credit may count towards your high school graduation requirements.

College credit earned through College Credit Plus may also be transferable to other public or private institutions.
