Jennifer Contini is the Featured Speaker for the April Session of the Women’s Success Series

Jennifer Contini, renowned and versatile artist, will be the featured speaker for the April 6 Women’s Success Series. The event is held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Kent State University at Tuscarawas in the Science and Technology Center. Cost to attend is $15 when paid in advance and $20 if paid at the door. The cost includes a continental breakfast.

As a highly respected artist, Contini will speak about various aspects of her career and the significant people, beliefs and events that have impacted, shaped and changed the direction of her life.

While versatile in all mediums, her gallery work is concentrated in representational mixed media. Contini’s technique of using mixed media – including acrylics, metals, resins, plastics, marbles, maps and signs – enrich her paintings. She expresses herself best through the diverse materials and objects that she interacts with every day. Her canvases contain a myriad of messages that come from her surroundings and her strong spiritual beliefs.

Contini has exhibited internationally in Rome, Germany and Paris, and her collectors are from all over the world.

Gathering inspiration and motivation from supporting her favorite charities, Contini is committed to supporting communities. She has raised thousands of dollars for charity through the sale of her art. Contini began her artistic career in downtown New York City and has recently returned to Tuscarawas County. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Art History from Purchase College, SUNY.

This session also includes networking opportunities and a discussion, featuring the TED Talk, Can We All “Have It All?” by Anne-Marie Slaughter.

The Women’s Success Series is designed to inspire women of all ages and all walks of life to succeed personally and professionally. Each year, the leadership series features three dynamic women who have enjoyed a measure of success in Tuscarawas County. The 2017-18 Women’s Success Series kicked off in November with Jennifer Clark, former long-time news director at WJER, followed in February with Jennifer Kiko, former field representative for Rep. Bob Gibbs. Next year’s speakers will be revealed soon.

The Women’s Success Series is sponsored by Dennison Railroad Depot Museum and Kent State Tuscarawas in collaboration with Carlene Farms, Tuscarawas County Public Library System and the Economic Development and Finance Alliance of Tuscarawas County.

The Series is intended to be a catalyst for the dynamic women of our community. A catalyst to think differently about success, to think differently about themselves and to think differently about how they live, work and play in Tuscarawas County.

“We are very fortunate to feature a variety of remarkable speakers who share their inspirational and motivational success stories,” said Deb Ellwood, marketing associate at Kent State Tuscarawas and one of the steering committee members. “The Women’s Success Series appeals to women of all ages and from all walks of life, which leads to dynamic, encouraging and thoughtful discussions.”

In addition to Ellwood, steering committee members include Wendy Zucal from the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, Connie Finton from Carlene Farms, Michelle McMorrow Ramsell from the Tuscarawas County Public Library System, and Adria Bergeron from Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.
