Nursing Faculty Selected by OADN as Fellow

Dr. Mariann Harding, Kent State University at Tuscarawas associate professor of nursing technology, has been selected for induction into the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN) Academy for Associate Degree Nursing.

Selected as a Fellow of the Academy in recognition of her outstanding contributions to associate degree nursing education and her commitment to nursing education and the practice of nursing, Dr. Harding will receive the official designation during the OADN 2019 Convention that will be held in November in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Academy of Associate Degree Nursing was established to recognize remarkable contributions as role models for student, faculty colleagues and as advocates for associate degree nursing education.

Dr. Harding has taught nursing at the undergraduate level for the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN) and the RN-BSN nursing programs at Kent State Tuscarawas since 2005. Her registered nursing career started over 30 years ago, working primarily in critical care as an adult nurse practitioner for most of her career. Outside of Kent State, Dr. Harding has served as editor and co-author of several nursing education books.

With expertise in the areas of health promotion, student success and nursing care planning, Dr. Harding has also published numerous articles and is a regular speaker at nursing events and conferences across the country.

“I am very proud of the hard work and accomplishments of Dr. Harding and of the tremendous success of our nursing program,” said Dr. Brad Bielski, Dean and Chief Administrative Officer at Kent State Tuscarawas. “Our faculty play a key role in the success of our students as future registered nurses.”

Dr. Harding earned a Ph.D. at West Virginia University, an MSN at Catholic University, a BSN at Ohio University and a diploma at Mt. Carmel School of Nursing.
