Kent State Begins 2023 WNIT at Syracuse

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Kent State will travel to Syracuse for a 2023 Postseason WNIT first round contest on Wednesday, March 15. Tip inside the JMA Wireless Dome is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Golden Flashes (21-10, 12-6 MAC MAC) will be making their seventh appearance in the event and posted first-round wins in the two most recent years, defeating Green Bay in 2019 and Youngstown State in 2022.

"This is a great opportunity for us to continue playing and show how we can compete against an ACC opponent," said head coach Todd Starkey. "Obviously, this is an interesting matchup with our program's history competing against several of the coaches and players now at Syracuse. We want to continue to play as long as we can and just want to play our best basketball in every opportunity we have moving forward."

The Orange (18-12, 9-9 ACC) are led by former Buffalo head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, who is in her first season leading her alma mater. Syracuse's roster features four student-athletes who played for the Bulls, highlighted by All-ACC guard Dyaisha Fair.

The winner of the game will advance to play the winner of Seton Hall-St. John's in the second round.
