Kent State University's third annual Juneteenth observance began with Friday's Juneteenth Jubilee at Manchester Field on the Kent Campus.
Performances included rapper and mental health advocate Archie Green/Peel Dem Layers Back featuring Cope Kingz, along with other musicians and dancers. Vendors and food trucks were also part of the celebration.
On Monday, the university was closed and no classes were scheduled.
