PTA and OTA students recently gathered with an oversized check to represent their donation to the Banquet of Lisbon.

Students from the Kent State East Liverpool physical therapist assistant (PTA) and the occupational therapy assistant (OTA) programs joined efforts to help support the Banquet of Lisbon. The students used fundraisers to make a combined donation of $600 to help the Columbiana County campuses host the banquet on Oct. 24. Each year, PTA and OTA students from the Kent East Liverpool campus find unique ways to increase awareness about their fields, while raising funds for a cause chosen by the classes. Conversation Partners Program

Kent State University’s Office of International Student Affairs is urging all students interested in different cultures to expand their worldview and create new friends in the community-building Conversation Partners program. The Conversation Partners Program at Kent State is a voluntary program that pairs international students with students from the United States, according to the Office of International Student Affairs. Once paired, the meetings between partners can take place virtually or in person. The paired students meet once a week for one hour to discuss their different cultures. ...

Kent State's College of Education, Health and Human Services strives to put more teachers in the classroom.

Two Kent State University professors believe the best way to get more teachers in the classroom is to keep more education majors in college.  They recently received a $200,000 grant that will be used to do just that: help students stay in school.  “The grant money is almost all for scholarships and programming,” said Alicia R.
