Suicide is on the rise, especially among people of college age. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in four adults ages 18-24 contemplated suicide in June 2020. The late Kirk Mangus was an art professor at Kent State University renowned for his ceramic art, sculpture, drawings, paintings and murals.   Mangus served as head of ceramics at Kent State from 1985 until his passing in 2013. A campus groundhog is building his winter burrow near Engleman Hall.

Near the building site of Crawford Hall, which will be the new home of the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, a furry campus resident is busily digging his winter burrow.  Groundhogs hibernate over winter, so once this burrow is finished, this groundhog will enter a dormant state in late fall and not emerge until late winter or early spring - probably weeks after "Groundhog Day." ...
