The Kent State University Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, in the University Library, Second Floor, Urban Conference Room, on the Kent Campus to consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business. Students admitted to the College of Education may select Middle Childhood Education (MCED) as their major. Applicants to advanced study in MCED will be reviewed by the Middle Childhood Education faculty toward the end of the sophomore year. In order to manage enrollment and provide a high quality program, the faculty will select the most qualified applicants based on the following criteria:

How to Apply for the Reading Endorsement Program

Consider applying to the Master of Education in Reading Specialization program (M.Ed.). You earn the K-12 endorsement within this program. You have a total of 6 years to complete this degree. You would have 18 hours (6 courses) left after the reading endorsement courses to complete your degree. You may also apply as graduate non-degree for the endorsement program only. However please note only 12 hours will transfer to a master’s program if you apply as graduate non-degree.
