The Henderson Endowed Chair for Nursing Innovation is an appointment that acknowledges and recognizes distinguished academic achievement in areas such as complementary and alternative therapies, patient quality and safety, or patient care advancements.
Successful candidates will have a record of sustained and continued professional grown, thereby supporting innovation in nursing through research.The named Henderson Chair will make cutting-edge research contributions that will advance the quality of healthcare outcomes in a focused area.
Linnea Henderson was the founding dean of the Kent State University College of Nursing and through her vision started the college's first nursing program in the mid-1960s until the program was approved by the Ohio Board of Regents in 1967 as a school of nursing.
