Dr. Ratchneewan Ross, an associate professor in Kent State Universityâ€™s College of Nursing, has received a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach and conduct research in Thailand. Ross will teach research methodology to graduate students and doctoral candidates at five universities in Thailand from June to October 2010. While in Thailand, she also will conduct seminars for nursing faculty and conduct her own research project.
â€œIâ€™m quite honored to receive this prestigious grant,â€ said Ross, who is in her eighth year at Kent State. â€œI will be very busy - teaching in four different regions of the country - but I am really looking forward to this opportunity.â€
The Fulbright grant will cover travel expenses and the costs of living abroad, and it also will provide a stipend. In addition, Ross will receive financial support for her research project, â€œIntimate Partner Violence, Social Support and Health Outcomes Among Thai OB/GYN Patients.â€
